Jason Smyth is the Founder and Managing Director of Smyth Financial, an award-winning, nationally recognised brokerage built on performance, relationships and results. 

With 28 years’ experience in equipment and asset finance, Jason is a highly respected industry leader known for delivering strategic, outcome-focused finance solutions. Throughout his career, he has worked with a broad range of lenders including Suncorp, Sanwa Finance, UFJ Finance, BOQ Equipment Finance and Esanda, consistently performing at the highest level and earning a reputation for excellence. 

Under Jason’s leadership, Smyth Financial has grown into a trusted national brokerage, supporting businesses, investors and individuals across Australia. Both Jason and the business have been nominated for multiple industry awards, most recently including LMG Asset Finance Brokerage of the Year and LMG Asset Finance Broker of the Year – recognition that reflects the strength, growth and performance of the brand. 

Jason himself has received numerous state and national lender awards in the asset finance space, including BOQ QLD Broker of the Year and going on to win BOQ National Broker of the Year (2022) – a testament to his consistency, professionalism and results-driven approach. 

Over more than two decades, Jason has arranged finance for thousands of vehicles, trucks, tractors, excavators, loaders and complex commercial assets across nearly every industry sector. With nearly two decades of experience, Corey has developed a broad and loyal client base, supported by long-standing partnerships with suppliers and industry professionals who trust him to look after their customers. Over the years, he has had the privilege of supporting many small and start-up ventures as they’ve grown into established, successful operations – something he considers one of the most rewarding aspects of his career. 

Corey’s strength lies in his ability to listen first and structure second. His deep industry knowledge, combined with a genuine understanding of his clients’ goals, allows him to deliver tailored finance solutions that align with both immediate needs and long-term growth plans. Sarah is a finance and mortgage broker with over 18 years’ experience in banking and lending. Since beginning her career in finance in 2007, she has helped clients navigate some of life’s biggest financial decisions – from purchasing their first home to refinancing and building long term financial security.
 
With nearly two decades of industry experience, Sarah understands how complex and overwhelming the lending process can feel. Even highly capable clients often approach finance with uncertainty or anxiety. Her role is to simplify the process, provide clarity, and advocate strongly on behalf of her clients so they can move forward with confidence. 

Sarah does not believe in rushed conversations or one-size-fits-all solutions. She takes the time to understand each client’s personal circumstances, goals and lifestyle, translating complex lending structures into clear, practical guidance. Her focus is on empowering clients to make informed decisions that align with their long-term plans. 

Beyond broking, Sarah is passionate about financial education and building money confidence. She believes that when clients feel in control of their everyday finances, they are better positioned to borrow, invest and plan strategically for the future.

Keith Krause

Account Manager

With more than 35 years of experience across banking and automotive finance, Keith Krause brings depth, integrity and genuine care to every client relationship. 

Keith began his career with Westpac straight out of Year 12, dedicating nine years to the organisation and progressing to Assistant Manager and Senior Relief Officer before the branch closure and redundancy reshaped his path. Rather than slowing him down, it propelled him forward. 

He then spent 25 years with Lawrence’s, including 22 years as Business Manager, building a reputation for professionalism, precision and unwavering commitment to customer outcomes. Following the Holden closure and subsequent market changes, Keith transitioned to DC Motors, where he served as Business Manager for a further four and a half years.

Today at Smyth Financial, Keith’s approach is simple: achieve the best possible outcome for the client – efficiently, transparently and without unnecessary complications. 

He believes finance should feel straightforward, not stressful. By gathering the right information upfront, structuring deals correctly the first time and minimising back-and-forth, Keith ensures a smooth path from application to settlement. His clients value clear communication, honest guidance and his commitment to keeping them informed every step of the way.

Adam Carlos

Commercial Asset Finance Broker

Adam joined Smyth Financial more than two years ago as an Account Manager and has since progressed into his current role as a Finance Broker, specialising in Commercial Asset Finance. 

With six years’ experience in the finance industry – including dealership finance and vehicle sales – Adam brings practical, hands-on knowledge of both the lending process and the assets that drive business performance. His background allows him to understand not just the numbers, but the operational needs behind every purchase. 

Adam is focused on delivering clear, well-structured finance solutions that align with his clients’ commercial objectives. He believes finance conversations should be straightforward and transparent, ensuring clients feel informed, confident and supported throughout the process. 

Known for his approachable nature and direct communication style, Adam builds strong relationships with business owners who value efficiency, clarity and outcomes.

Outside of work, Adam enjoys gaming, planning new projects and keeping up with the latest technology – though he admits new tech releases can sometimes test his willpower.

Kylie Hammond

Asset & Agribusiness Finance Specialist

Kylie joined Smyth Financial in April 2023, bringing with her decades of experience across banking and finance. After an extensive career with major banks, she was drawn to Smyth Financial’s genuine client-first approach – something she believes truly sets the business apart. 

Throughout her career, Kylie has seen how impactful the right financial guidance can be. At Smyth Financial, she values being part of a team that focuses on what clients actually need to ensure their businesses grow and thrive. For Kylie, knowing that her work directly contributes to her clients’ success is what makes the role so rewarding. 

Kylie began her career in commercial banking with ANZ in 1993 and has since built a wealth of experience across Queensland, working alongside her partner and fellow Smyth Financial team member, Marcus Hunt. Prior to joining Smyth Financial, she specialised with CBA in large-scale agricultural banking, supporting clients with complex transactions including the purchase and sale of cattle stations throughout South East and Central Queensland. 

Today, Kylie leads the numbers on the Asset Finance and Agribusiness side, supporting the Smyth team across everything from single asset purchases to complex, multi-facility structures. Operating from her family beef farm on the Mid North Coast of NSW, she brings both professional expertise and real-world agricultural experience to every client conversation. 

Outside of finance, Kylie’s passion for farming and working with the land continues – if it involves soil, she’s all in.

Tammy Bevan

Home Loan Specialist

Tammy Bevan brings valuable industry experience and a genuine passion for helping people achieve their home ownership goals.

With a strong background in banking and customer service, Tammy understands the importance of clear communication, trusted advice, and making the lending process as smooth as possible for her clients. 

Tammy began her career in the banking industry with Westpac, where she worked from 2008 to 2011 before continuing her lending career as a Home Lender at Bendigo Bank from 2011 to 2014. During this time, she developed a solid foundation in residential lending, working closely with clients to guide them through the home loan process and helping them make confident financial decisions. 

In more recent years, Tammy has also been involved in running a family-owned tennis court construction business, where she managed administration and bookkeeping between 2022 and 2025. This experience further strengthened her organisational skills and deepened her understanding of small business operations. 

As a proud mum and community-focused professional, Tammy understands that every client’s situation is unique. She is passionate about helping families, first home buyers, and property investors navigate their finance options with confidence.

As Business Development Manager at Smyth Financial Australia, Alex plays a key role in strengthening client relationships and expanding strategic partnerships. He is passionate about ensuring asset finance is structured correctly from the outset – efficient, competitive and aligned with the commercial realities of each business.

Emily is a strategic, high-energy marketing professional with more than 20 years’ experience leading brand growth across multiple industries.

Known for her ability to combine creative vision with commercial strategy, she specialises in building brands that are bold, consistent and results-driven.

Prior to joining Smyth Financial, Emily spent six years leading the marketing strategy for one of Queensland’s most recognised fresh produce brands, Pure Gold Pineapples, delivering national brand exposure and executing multi-market campaigns across Australia. Her work strengthened brand positioning, expanded reach and elevated industry presence. 

At Smyth Financial, Emily leads all aspects of marketing and brand development – from social media and content strategy to sponsorships, events, partnerships and creative direction. She played a central role in the company’s rebrand and continues to drive brand consistency, innovation and strategic growth across every platform.

Philippa Sticklen

Client Services Concierge

With over 20 years of experience in B2B sales across Telecommunications, Office Equipment & Furniture, and Business Technology, Philippa brings a strong commercial background and a deep understanding of how businesses operate. 

Her career has been built on relationships – understanding client needs, delivering tailored solutions, and supporting businesses to operate more efficiently and effectively.

Martha Ryan

Credit Analyst

Martha is one of Smyth Financial’s longest-standing team members, bringing over eight years of experience in the Asset Finance industry.

Since joining the business in 2017, she has played an integral role in supporting the team across administration, settlements and operational processes, before progressing into her current position as Credit Analyst. 

With a strong analytical mindset and a genuine passion for numbers, Martha’s expertise is underpinned by her Bachelor of Science (Mathematics). To further strengthen her industry knowledge, she completed a Certificate IV in Financial Services – Commercial & Asset Finance in 2019, ensuring she remains current and well-equipped within the evolving finance landscape. 

As Credit Analyst, Martha is responsible for reviewing and assessing client applications, structuring submissions, and coordinating approvals across our extensive lender network. Her attention to detail, accuracy and methodical approach ensure every application is handled with care and precision.
